About me
Hello, my name is Garry!
As a teenager, I discovered my passion for music and began my musical journey on the guitar. Over time, my curiosity led me to explore other instruments, as I aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of music.
This pursuit of constant development led me to the piano, and as I embraced teaching, this has allowed me to become a full time musician. For me, the piano is the master instrument. It grants you the ability to command the full range of the orchestra at your fingertips, while also providing the means to accompany yourself with a few chords.
Witnessing my students grow as musicians and helping them grasp not only the technical aspects of piano playing but also the broader subject of music brings me immense joy.
With over 20 years of live performance experience, I have explored a wide range of genres. I find immense fulfilment in playing everything from blues and jazz, through to funk and metal! I believe that my comfort and versatility in various musical styles contribute to my effectiveness as a teacher, and I can approach music education from a holistic perspective. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with you and guiding you on your journey!
