About me

Hey!

My name is Carla and I am a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, piano teacher and composer from New York. After begging my parents to start learning how to play the piano, I started playing at the age of 5, and over the years I went on to complete all my Grades for piano, also receiving a dedicated High School Diploma in piano performance from the American College of Musicians National Guild of Piano Teachers.

My passion for music does not stop at the piano - my love of singing lead me to join choirs and I became a part of the local jazz clubs in Queens, and while studying for my Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Vocal Performance I discovered my love for guitar, which awoke the songwriter in me.

Today, I perform regularly as a singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist in several projects, and I work as a composer for publishing and licensing companies. My love for piano and music in general has opened up my life to many exciting opportunities and I love to bring this passion and fulfilment to my piano lessons.

My approach to teaching is to keep a positive and open mind, to see no challenge as too daunting, and to remind ourselves that the best part of music is that we never stop learning!
