Are you looking for piano lessons in Redfield?
About me
I have played the piano since I was 7, learning from my parents who are both music teachers. However, I took a long break from practicing the piano during college and university as at the time I was pursuing the clarinet. I have Grade 8 distinction in jazz clarinet and graduated with a first class honours in music technology getting the highest grade in my year. My first experience of teaching the piano was in Kathmandu at a music school called 'KatJazz', this is where I realised teaching piano was something I wanted to do more of. It was only after this experience that I returned to studying the piano with much more conviction. This lead to me recently achieving Grade 8 distinction in piano and I am very excited to take it further and continue studying myself. I have really been enjoying the (endless) process of discovering and learning about different repertoire.
One of the things I value most about practicing an instrument is the cathartic feeling of playing which can occur when you are being present, confident and have an understanding of what the music is portraying, whether that be an image, concept or emotion. I aim to teach with this value in mind. Going over the fundamentals is of course essential but I believe it is also very important to foster a reason to want to keep practicing in the first place.
I am looking forward to meeting you and thanks for reading.
