Piano lessons in Ashley Down

I’m a piano teacher who specialises in improvisation, I have developed a refreshing way to deliver my piano lessons, by finding intuitive ways to engage with music that I believe can make a significant difference in how students approach learning the piano.

My focus is on teaching students, who can be beginners or experts, to engage with creativity and self-expression, allowing both children and adults the ablity to explore their unique musical voice.

Playing the piano can offer a relaxing experience, especially when improvising. Improvisation has always played an important part in my music and I run a podcast where I improvise music to stories. My precise approach will help students who are looking to learn how to improvise to feel the track when playing note for note is tricky or to get into the groove and play what is needed; which is particularly useful if you play in a band.

That said, I am happy to take the piano lessons in what ever direction you would like to. Some example of this would be, to show you how to play the piano without reading music, or learning how to use an iPad, to manage mistakes well, and to get into the right mindset achieving mental clarity. I can also teach you composing techniques, such as how to write great melodies on the piano.
