About me

Joe Stone is a Brighton based guitarist, workshop leader and music educator with a passion for helping young people discover their creativity through music. With a BA in Professional Musicianship (Guitar) from BIMM, Joe has over a
decade of playing and recording experience and brings a wide range of practical skills to the classroom and the community.

Joe specialises in delivering inclusive music workshops that combine guitar, songwriting and digital music production. His sessions are creative, student led and focused on building confidence and collaboration. Joe has led music sessions for students aged five to eighteen across a range of settings including primary and secondary schools, youth centres and alternative provision units.

As a workshop facilitator, Joe is experienced in group songwriting, beat making, lyric writing, ensemble playing and performance coaching. His approach is flexible and responsive. He adapts content and style to suit each group whether working with beginners or more advanced students. He believes strongly in making music education accessible and fun and often incorporates loop pedals, production tools and collaborative games into his sessions.

Joe has worked with organisations such as Rocksteady Music School, Create and AudioActive, delivering outreach workshops to young carers, children in care and students facing social or emotional challenges. He is DBS checked, trained in safeguarding and confident in navigating group dynamics with professionalism and warmth.

As a musician, Joe performs regularly in Brighton and London and has composed and produced tracks for film, theatre and live performance. His practical industry insight adds a real world dimension to his teaching, helping students understand how their creativity connects to music careers and culture.
